Once the surface of the conveyor belt is damaged, it should be repaired in time, otherwise it will bring some unexpected damage.
1. The conveyor belt is thinned, and it is not easy to overlap with the surface damage of the conveyor belt to make the thickness thin. When the ends are overlapped, the thickness of the joint is different. Poor joint locations and backup rolls create strong scratches during operation, which not only wears the backup rolls, but also shortens the life of the joints, especially if the overlap between the new belt and the old belt is more pronounced. For conveyor belts connected by vulcanization, it is difficult to grind due to different thicknesses.
2. The strength of the conveyor belt reduces the damage of the conveyor belt to a certain extent, especially the depth of the cover layer and the core layer, which directly affects the tensile strength of the conveyor belt and reduces the strength of the conveyor belt. When the steel cord conveyor belt is damaged to the core layer, it may cause the steel cord core to rust and lose strength. During the operation of the conveyor belt with poor strength, when the load suddenly increases, such as loading with load, entrainment, etc., the conveyor belt is easily broken.
3. The service life of the conveyor belt shortens the damage of the conveyor belt. Firstly, the cover layer is thin and the core layer is exposed, which causes premature damage of the conveyor belt, reduces the service life of the conveyor belt, and increases the transportation cost of the mine. For conveyor belts with different degrees of wear on both sides of the centerline, the service life of the conveyor belt is further reduced due to changes in local tensile strength.
4. When the belts on both sides of the belt center line have different degrees of damage, the tension ratio on both sides tends to change, which directly leads to the deviation of the belt during operation, and the wear is more complicated for correcting the deviation.
